Paratha Recipe

Paratha Recipe

North Indians rarely like their rotis plain. Instead they prefer them stuffed with various vegetables. These stuffed Indian breads are known as parathas. They can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner, either with a vegetable or dal or then with some curds. Given here is the aloo paratha recipe (any other finely chopped vegetable can be stffed instead such as onions, cauliflower, radish, cabbage, carrots, French beans; as well as dals that are cooked dry):

The ingredients:

3 cups of wheat flour
2 mashed potatoes
Ghee
Finely chopped coriander leaves
3 finely chopped green chilies
Finely chopped ginger
1 teaspoon of mango powder
1 teaspoon of chili powder

Knead the flour into dough and keep aside. Then place the mashed potatoes in a separate dish and all other ingredients except for the ghee. Then roll out the dough into medium thick circles. Stuff some the potato mix into this and make a ball. Then roll this out till flat. Grease a hot tava with ghee and place the stuffed dough over it and let it roast. Remove from the tava and repeat the same with rest of the dough.
